Introduction

Leadership is the process of influencing people to accomplish a goal. It is not about being in charge, but rather about getting others to want to do what you want them to do. Apparently, leadership doesn’t have anything with rank or position like CEOs and Managers of any company or Organization, it can be used by anyone who wants to get things done.

A leader’s job is to develop a vision and increase the likelihood of achieving it. He or She doesn’t need to be in charge or have any special authority, but merely needs to inspire others so they can want to follow steps directed by them.

Importance of Leadership.

Leadership is a very important part of our lives. A good leader has the ability to influence and guide others. It can be done through many different ways, such as through words, actions or both. They lead by example or by providing direction for others to follow. Sometimes, it’s just how they approach the situation that makes a difference in the outcome. People get influenced and motivated by them.

Leadership may not be just one person, It can be a group of people coming together to improve their community. A leader must also have followers who believe in what they believe in and are willing to participate in their cause.

Qualities of Good Leader.

  • Leaders are able to see things from another person’s perspective.
  • Leaders are able to take criticism without getting offended.
  • Leaders have empathy for other people’s feelings.
  • Leaders have emotional intelligence.
  • Leaders know how to motivate their team and set goals that are achievable.
  • Leaders have a clear vision of what they want from their team, which will help them stay focused on their goals and objectives.
  • Leaders are able to make decisions and stay calm under pressure.
  • Leaders set the standards for their team and make sure that the standards they set are achievable and measurable.
  • Leaders trust their team in order for them to be successful.
  • Leaders provide proper feedback frequently on the performance of their Team.
  • Leaders do not micromanage the team and instead give them the autonomy they need in order to do their job well.
  • Leaders maintain good relationships with their team, they are open with them about what is going on in the company while being honest with what is happening.
  • Leaders appreciate and recognize their team on every small or big achievement

What are the Benefits of Having a Leader?

A leader has a unique way of leading a group of people. They have the ability to motivate people and inspire them to do great things. Leaders are not born, they are made.

Leaders are usually given the responsibility for an organization or company because they have the skillset that is necessary for success. It is up to them to be able to build and maintain a team that will help them achieve their goals.

The benefits of having a leader in an organization or company can be seen in many different ways. The most obvious benefit is that they have a clear sense of direction and know what needs to be done when it needs to be done, without any confusion or distractions from other members of the group. Leadership is a skill that can be learned and is not something that you are born with. Leadership skills can be developed by following few steps:

  • Keep learning and develop your knowledge and thinking. Work beyond your time limits to develop yourself.
  • Develop Situational Awareness. This will help you for corrective decision making. You will be able to differentiate right or wrong in any circumstances.
  • Learn about leadership and how it works. Read some great books on Leadership.
  • Practice being a leader in different situations. You can take some minor challenges and lead the team. This will let you boost confidence.
  • Learn from other leaders and their experiences. Get counselling from them and know how they practice leadership. You can offer your assistance to them while they are leading any project and challenges.
  • Take on leadership roles in your life and work. Companies frequently land in some situations where they are in need of a person who can lead the team to overtime challenges.
